The Diamondbacks have agreed to trade:
Ronald Guzman TEX - 1B SPEC
Justin Williams TB - OF SPEC
Erik Skoglund KC - P SPEC
&
6th round pick
to the Rangers in exchange for:
Pedro Alvarez FA - 1B A arb year 7 of 7 - 7.9M
Once again it's pretty simple to see what my motivation is. I'm in full on compete now mode.

Couldn't you get better prospects for a 400 point hitter Texas...? Just wondering. D'backs picks up another big bat. But I suppose none of them are terrible specs, just not that great.

Alvarez just has 1B eligibility now decreasing his value. Add in to the fact that he's a free agent that could possibly be put in a platoon. I think I got what he's worth at the moment. |
