Yan Gomes CLE C 2016: 9M 2017: 9M
Nick Castellanos DET 3B Year 3 of 7 .8M
The Reds trade:
Jordan Zimmerman DET SP Year 7 of 7 B arb: 13.6M
Derek Norris SD C Year 5 of 7 A arb: 7.5M
Yorman Rodriguez CIN OF Spec
Marco Gonzales STL P Spec
I'm giving up 3 good major league pieces at reasonable contracts. I'm getting 8M in cap space, and 2 good major league pieces back. Zimmerman on a B deal is the only thing that's not great because I have no control of him next offseason, but I get Norris who is cheaper and under contract longer than Gomes. Also, I like the two specs I'm getting in return. |

Approve. Clearing space and getting some good young talent is good for the A's. The Reds getting a starting young 3B to help compete this season is good for the Reds.
