Mariners receive:
Alex Wood, SP (yr4, A, $10.3M) Yadiel Rivera, MI (spec)
Brewers receive:
Edwin Encarnacion (2016: $30M, 2017 free agent), $15M 2016 reimbursement
From my perspective, I had a surplus of SPs (famous last words), so this is about trading a controllable SP and utility infielder to upgrade my hiting with E5.
Brewers corresponding cuts: Yadir Drake Justin De Fratus Kyle Drabek Brandon Kintzler

I'm not sure I get this one very much for Mariners... Alex Wood was an okay starter last season (about 400 points), while Yadiel Rivera is a very low-end prospect... who's gotten minimal at-bats on a bad team.
Encarnacion was 12th among hitters in scoring last year (627 points)... scoring under 50 points less than Mike Trout, Nolan Arenado, and Joey Votto. If Brewers were taking on all of Encarnacion's big salary, I'd get that, but Mariners covers half of it... only getting about $4m of relief. Am I missing something here?

Allow. Brewers win this deal 75-25. Alex Wood is still a SP, they are seemingly difficult to come by in this league, Rivera shows flashes of his ability but looks like a MLB utility player, Encarnacion is a top tier 1B. I would have hoped to receive draft picks and/or more prospects as a return for my rebuild if I were making the same trade.

Approve. I like the Brewers getting Encarnacion in this deal, but it's not vetoable in my mind. The Mariners are getting a controllable SP that is hard to come by in this league and a useable spec. Encarnacion is a 1 year rental for the Brewers. I personally think the Mariners could've gotten more, but I still don't think it's vetoable.

Veto - Encarnacion is an elite power hitter and Wood Is amiddling SP with horrible mechanics. Rivera is just a warm body. Not nearly enough for Encarnacion.

Veto, not sure Wood will keep his starting job and Encarnacion can change a team and standings.

That's four vetoes. Deal is cancelled.
