Royals trade:
Michael Pineda, SP (4 of 7) $9.4M Royals 4th round 2016 Amateur Draft Pick
Red Sox trade:
Red Sox 2nd round 2016 Amateur Draft Pick David Murphy, OF $2M through 2017
I accept. The rebuild continues and I have no interest in keeping Pineda for the future as he's too costly for a rebuilding team like mine. The second round pick will hopefully be towards the top of the round and should return a nice piece to build upon. Murphy is retired and just a piece to offset money.
Nice dealing Chris.

Red Sox accept.
Losing pick 2.1 hurts, but Pineda is solid and under control for a few more years. He will be contributing when I hope to be competing again....

Does Pineda really have this little value? Moving up two rounds in the draft and still have to pay $2M?

I would say this....the move in the draft is from mid 4th round to first pick of round two and the $2M is really $1M once I cut Murphy. Also moving Pineda clears $9M+ in salary which is nice operating room to have in a rebuild.

You can use him Red Sox. Its been 48hrs since you accepted it, and ratio of approves makes deal valid.
