Blue Jays receive: Scott Schebler, OF (spec)
Brewers receive: Melvin Upton, Jr. ($4.8M 2016 only)
I was in need of a bat; Upton is far from risk free but he's playing well. I expect Schebler to be back up once Jay Bruce is traded, but I'm firmly in win now mode, and it makes sense to sacrifice seven years of control for Upton's production in the present. I don't want to speak too much for the Blue Jays, but given the directions of our teams, I do think this deal make senses from a risk/reward perspective on both sides.
Nice dealing Adam.

Blue Jays accept. This gives me a player with long term control at a much cheaper rate. Also, Melvin Upton. Jr is 31,a nd my team is not a good place, it is a better place for a 25 year old. I am glad we were able to work out a deal.
Best of luck Tim.

Schebler for a guy who gives you some power and speed (over 3 fpp?)
What's the upside on the 25 year old prospect for you Adam?

Approve. One team gets an ok vet on an expiring deal. The other team gets a young, cheap, controlled piece that could be a fantasy contributor for the Jays for the next few years.

allow. Not really a great trade for the Jays, but it's something.

approve, the return isn't much, but it does have a little value.
