Mariners trade:
Mike Bolsinger RP (TOR) Arb 2 of 7 800K
Yankees trade:
Adrian Gonzalez 1B (LAD) 21.60M 17, 21.60M 18 Kyle Farmer C/3B (LAD) 300K Joshua Lowe OF (TB) 300K
Mariners accept, this is a pretty big contract but there is a chance i can deal him later potentially. Lowe and Farmer are solid returns by themselves and getting rid of Bolsinger is fine, best of luck Jerry i think this is trade 4 this year so...always good to see returning customers.

Hard veto. You're getting 2 prospects, plus Adrian Gonzales for an average Mike Bolsinger?! A AAA pitcher for most part, no better than a 5 in any rotation. This is a joke.

he's dumping Gonzalez's contract

I get that, but he played in 156 games last year, and only reason he hasn't played this year is because he's hurt. Plus you get him next year, it's not a straight dump. He's a quality 1B, always has been

Yanks accept, he won't be back this year and will only have 1 contract year left. Oh, trading a LAD C prospect that is roster bound. He gets 1 potentially good prospect. I'm not sure Adrian will be back, but this is up to the other owners. I am in it for this year not 2018.

Allow.
The biggest thing for me, the Yankees record, Bolsinger is everything that Travis points out, however this is Jerry making a deal. Getting rid of $21.6M isn't always the easiest thing to do, now this opens up options for two maybe three good players. While it's easy to sit back and say I would have gotten more, it's a deal that makes sense for both teams.

My point is, the two specs are plenty for him. Lowe is a first round draft pick from last year. I wouldn't give up a first rounder for Bolsinger ever. Plus he gets a good spec who has a .298 career BA in the minors and is all the way up to AAA. Plus they get Gonzo? No. Too much. I get it from Yanks perspective, I just think Mariners are making out like a fat rat here

Travis, I consider what your doing highly unethical. This is your 4th post to try and get your point across, you tried to make your point before the Yankees accepted. You had a big win today, you knocked off the last remaining undefeated team, enjoy the night, let the league decide. Same goes to the Mariners, I know there is that itch to explain (because no one likes getting their deal vetoed), you and the Yankees gave your reasons in the acceptance of the deal, let the league decide (offer yourself the opportunity to be zen).

I realized after my first post, I really didn't give proper explanation, because yes, I saw this trade, and couldn't believe Yankees would agree to it, and I was upset. That being said, I've given proper explanation now. This is in the American League and has no bearing on myself, or my team. So my opinion is purely impartial. I'll leave it at that.

Approve, you have to give prospects to get rid of A-GON. This isn't the A-GON of old, he's just old now. Clearing cap space is huge for the Yankees to potentially add more impact players which AGON isn't anymore. Win win trade.

Approve, agree that A-Gon's contract is huge and needed to be sold like this, but this is definitively a win for the Mariners.

Approve, Adrian Gonzalez's contract is huge and he has hardly played at all this year. The trade also takes him off the books for next year. Whenever he returns I highly doubt he'll be the A-gon of old. Mariners come out ahead on this one.

I'm with Travis and, to be blunt, this deal sucks. Bolsinger cant pitch well enough to stay in the bigs but in return for him you get an all-star (yes declining but still a solid player), a good prospect and another prospect on top of all that?! That's ridiculously one-sided. Sure he's taking on money but look at the talent coming back for Bolsinger. I don't think I've ever opposed to a trade but this one does not seem remotely fair to me.

I'm going to approve this one. Last season, when healthy, Gonzalez was the 20th best first baseman in the league. To pay him that much money is really difficult for a contending team... especially with him now out this year as well. Is he still valuable? Sure. But I think the money saved could potentially improve the Yankees next season, or even this year. Mariners has the cap to take a chance on A-gon, so why not?
