Orioles trade:
1B Ryan Zimmerman 17: $5M, 18: $5M OF Jaycob Brugman 17: $300k (1 of 7)
Indians trade:
3B Miguel Andujar $300k P Foster Griffin $300k 2B/3B Travis Demeritte $300k
I shed some salary, and continue to add to my growing young core of players. Indians gets Zimmerman, who hit .300 with 36 HRs and 100 RBIs, for a bargain salary of $5M next year.

Indians Accept.
I love this trade. I was able to pick up Ryan Zimmerman after missing out on him in free agency just after joining the league, plus I picked up Brugman, who put up some decent numbers across 42 MLB games this year. I like the three guys who I'm sending away, but the return was too good to pass up on. It was great trading with you, Michael!

I have to toss a veto. Zim had a record year, and he's on a cheap contract, which sends his value up even more. Andujar is a solid spec, but other 2 are just average. Plus Orioles are giving up another guy who's gotten big league bats in Brugman.i don't see it.

Allow. This is more than I would want to give up for Ryan Zimmerman, though it's a pretty good deal for the Indians. Foster Griffin and Travis Demeritte while they are being described as just average by an owner that tosses around veto votes, were both 1st Round picks, Miguel Andujar is a top 100 prospect depending on what source you prefer. Ryan Zimmerman had a career year at the age of 33, maybe he replicates his season by staying healthy which goes against his reputation, it seems like a risk that the Indians are willing to take. Jaycob Brugman has the profile of a 4th OF, but hit himself into being a fringe prospect from being drafted in the 17th Round and then had some success in his MLB debut season. While I like this trade for the Indians and see the Orioles self-destructing (they are trying to call it a rebuild), this deal fits into what both teams are trying to achieve.

I wasn't trying to be rude, I'm sorry if it came off that way. Obviously I value players differently than most GMs. But I'm not going to change just because I'm the only one in the league that vetoes. I'll still voice my opinion. Now, that being said, my opinion is based on stats, not where they were drafted a few years ago. A .231 average in AA doesn't equate to big leagues in my eyes. I'll admit, I overlooked Demeritte's power when I posted the veto, so I could see him being a solid spec. Griffin has a 3.60 ERA at AA, which again, isn't eye catching. And had an even higher ERA past 2 seasons, and only strikes out 7 per 9 innings. My point is, for 650 points this year in bigs between Zim and Brugman, and an extremely favorable contract, I don't think it's enough.

Approve - better to sell too early than too late.
