I deal from a position of depth to upgrade at short and add another force in the back of my bullpen. Padres adds a good young shortstop in his own right (Swanson), a much-needed third baseman, as well as a pair of starters to really bolster his rotation. He also adds a good prospect with the 2nd rounder, and a cheap replacement for Davis in Blake Wood.

Sure im losing Turner whos a soild 2nd year guy. But im getting s solid SS back as well as 2 solid pitchers and a solid 3B. Davis is gunna help me from my pen especially now that were in a rebuild moode, but getting a 2nd rounder and a cheap RP back makes up for losing him.

This deal does not work. It would put the San Diego Padres about $3m over the salary cap for the 2017 season.

Please revise it promptly before the deadline, otherwise the deal will be cancelled.
