Dodgers Trade:
Matt Adams, '19 - $5.8M Dodgers 5th Dodgers 6th
Blue Jays Trade: Blue Jays 6th
Dodgers accept
This is to help free up cap space for myself. And the blue jays pick up a depth piece and an extra draft pick.

Blue Jays accept. Pick up a draft pick and move up in the draft for taking on a depth piece.

Veto. Simply because the Dodgers give up 2 picks in addition for Adams for only a 6th. I get the idea to shed cap but why add in two extra picks? The 2 6ths, in my mind, cancel out so now Toronto gets a pick and Adams for nothing? Adams will still contribute and get points even if he is coming off the bench. That part doesn’t make sense to me. Some clarification on justifying the deal may help, but just reading this trade left me confused.

I'm just trying to clear out the salary. I essentially am giving him a 5th to take on Adams contract

Veto. Dodgers picks are higher than Jays so Jays 6th isn't worth those. Adams had 21 HR last year, that doesn't make him worthless by any stretch of imagination. Maybe 6th is worth him. But we're talking 5mil for 2 draft picks? That's not worth it by any stretch of imagination. Jay's get 10-20 HRs next year, which that's points for the contender the Jays are. So Jays give up a 6th and get points AND 2 draft picks when their 6th isn't even worth anyone in the trade? Yeah ok.

I'm going to join the veto train here. The value of contributing MLB players is clearly out of whack during this free agency period and Toronto is capitalizing on it. Don't take offense to any of this Stephen, good work on the trade market. I would recommend to rebuilding teams to have a little more patience and find better deals.

Veto. This is my first ever veto, but I don’t think Adams a 5th and a 6th is in any way equal to the 6th going back.

Veto (3/5), I could kind of understand if the player at the center of the trade had an expensive and/or long term contract that the trading team was trying to get out of, but this isn't the case.
