Cardinals are trading:
Zack Grienke - $17.30 in 2020 and $17.30 in 2021 - covering 75% in 2020 only.
Rockies are trading:
Seth Beer - Spec Jeisson Rosario - Spec Cody Allen - $7.5 in 2019 - FA 2020 Jedd Gyorko - $5.9 in 2019 - FA 2020 Josh Taylor - $4.5 in 2019 - $4.5 Option in 2020
Allen, Gyorko, and Taylor are to make the salary cap work for 2019.
Red Sox & Cards accept. Or maybe just the Cards. As mentioned in the Wright trade, I have a solid young core of SPs that will be in the majors in the next year or two and Grienke wouldn't play a large part in that.

Rockies confirm. Allen, Gyorko and Taylor are just to make the 2019 money work. I saw the price that Ryu and Quintana went for recently and had to make a similar offer to Greinke. I think he'll be just as good next year even at 36 being he's in Houston. One more push with this roster.

Veto. Two 45 specs for an ace with 75% of salary covered is ridiculous. Even if it’s just for one year of control.

Veto.
Is this an overreaction to playoff Greinke? Greinke has two years of control remaining and has been a Top 10 pitcher in each of the past three seasons (2019 - 6th, 2018 - 10th, 2017 - 6th), which is as far back as I felt like checking. Even the most generous prospect rankings has Beer as a #100 dynasty spec, and he's supposed to be carrying this trade. I think Greinke should be grabbing at least two Top 100 guys or some combo of Top 100 and 1st Round picks, which Jeisson Rosario probably is not.

Veto, Greinke was the 6th highest scoring SP this past season. He was also a top 15 point per game SP. 17.3M for a top 6 SP is actually under market value and getting 75% coverage for next season. All of that for two 45 FV specs one of which (Beer) who had a bad start to his DBacks career. There should be more going Cardinals GM (Nik) way if he's moving a top 6 SP.
