This is a large trade with some nice picks and prospects going to Arizona, especially Soroka. However, Taveras hasn’t looked good at the MLB level and I’m very skeptical that Soroka will be at the same level he was at given his two Achilles’ tendon tears. I think the price is fair for a Cy Young winner with control and a 3.4 PPG OF bat who is instantly the best player in my lineup everyday. If these guys were rentals I wouldn’t give up anywhere close to this, but Snell has a track record as a great pitcher and has 2 years of control and Verdugo’s 5 years make this deal pretty well balanced in my opinion.
