Rockies trade:
RP, Liam Hendriks ($11m '21) - FA
RP, Luke Jackson ($800k ' 21) - ARB eligible
Yankees trade:
SP/RP, Eli Morgan ($300k) - 1 of 7
SP/RP, J.B. Bukauskas ($300k) - 1 of 7 NYY 2022 5th
Going to tag Hendriks, Jackson is a solid setup man. Morgan I am thinking will get pushed out of the rotation when Cleveland's big 3 is healthy and Bukauskas is never going to be a SP.

Confirm! Didn’t know you all still value Trammell so highly, Jacob should be able to get good value for him elsewhere then. Still good with this deal on my end!

Veto. This still seems ridiculous to me to acquire two relievers on the wrong side of 30. Eli Morgan isn’t great but he’s a good starting pitcher with 6 years of control who has done enough to be penciled into that rotation for the next few years. I don’t think Jacob gets the concept of this league. He needs an intervention.

This is not a cap dump. I vetoed Tim’s trade because he was saving $16m for the “upcoming” season for nothing. I could cut Luke Jackson for the upcoming season for nothing and not resign Liam Hendriks… for no penalty. That argument makes no sense.

Veto. I don’t understand a rebuilding team trading pre Arb mlb pieces for more expensive pieces that he could just sign in FA without giving up the pre Arb mlb pieces. I can understand trading mid to late round picks and low minor lotto tickets. Historically that’s what has been traded and approved in this league for franchise tag players.

Approve. Look at it from Jacob's side. He gets Hendriks. Doesn't have to win a bidding war, gets to keep him. That means Hendriks is worth more than a late pick. He's paying so he doesn't have to outbid ppl. If there's precedent that Hendriks is only worth a late pick, I believe it was valued wrong then.

So in that case change my vote to approve. I don’t like this decision for a rebuilding team, but let’s see this play out.

And the Gardner trade was completely different scenario. Because Tim was clearing 16mil and wasn't evening losing a pick? Simply moved down 1 round, and a late round at that. That's a lot of money. Was basically clearing 16mil for free.
